In this tongs-on workshop, you will learn how to interact with fire to achieve stunning glaze colors only possible with Raku firing. Raku glazes range from unique iridescent metallic to ancient-seeming white or golden crackle effects. During the first session you will learn about the properties and techniques of raku glazing. In the second class you will participate in the firing of your work. Please bring up to four of your previously bisqued ceramics pieces to the first class. Be ready to see some flames! Wear natural fiber clothing.
Work should be bisque-fired before the workshop. No outside clay, please. THIS CLASS IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Wear natural fiber clothing and closed-toe shoes. Tie back long hair.
Please arrive on time to class. Wear closed-toe shoes.
