Add a splash of originality to your cupboards by hand-building your own ceramic mugs, tumblers, small bowls or plates while getting acquainted with the ceramics studio. Fee includes clay and glazes. This is not a ceramics wheel throwing workshop. 

Raku Firing

In this tongs-on workshop, you will learn how to interact with fire to achieve stunning glaze colors only possible with Raku firing. Raku glazes range from unique iridescent metallic to ancient-seeming white or golden crackle effects. During the first session you will learn about the properties and techniques of raku glazing. In the second class you will participate in the firing of your work. Please bring up to four of your previously bisqued ceramics pieces to the first class. Be ready to see some flames! Wear natural fiber clothing.

Wheel Thrown Teapot

Now's your chance to master a classic vessel! Participants will learn to construct a complete teapot over the course of two afternoons using wheel throwing techniques. Previous wheel throwing experience required. Materials included for one teapot.
