Forged Hair pins are both ornamental and useful. Simple Hair Pins have been used in most cultures, symbolizing rites of passage, status, and protection. The earliest use of hairpins date as far back as 30,000 BCE and are still a commonly worn accessory today. Students will choose from 3 varieties of pin-styles for putting up long hair, customize their design with decorative techniques, all while learning basics of working with steel, including hot forging, cutting, grinding, and finishing.
