The earliest use of hairpins date as far back as 30,000 BCE and are still a commonly worn accessory today.  Students will choose from 3 varieties of pin-styles for putting up long hair, customize their design with decorative techniques, all while learning basics of working with steel, including hot forging, cutting, grinding, and finishing.

No experience necessary. Materials included for one hairpin set: additional materials available for purchase. This workshop does not provide enough experience to qualify for a full studio orientation.

A pinhole camera is a very simple device for taking photographs without a lens that dates to the mid 1800’s. We will build a pinhole camera in our first session and will spend our second session creating prints, learning the darkroom process and mastering the use of the camera you created.
